This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Take ownership of the AI strategy and roadmap for the field: Establish the vision and execute comprehensively across our entire field portfolio - from initial concept to full rollout.
• Integrate AI into the physical workspace: Transform the capabilities of computer vision, multimodal models, and agents into reliable products that function effectively on active job sites, where inputs can be unpredictable and conditions vary daily.
• Serve as a thought partner: Provide a well-formed perspective on the future of field technology and leverage it to influence how Homebound implements new technologies for the teams constructing our homes.
• Immerse in the field: Travel to Texas monthly to collaborate directly with Superintendents and DCOs, conduct training sessions, facilitate rollouts, and establish robust feedback loops that ensure the effectiveness of field products.
• Propel progress across teams: Act independently to advance initiatives across Construction Operations, Operations, and Engineering without relying on pre-established playbooks.
• Define product specifications with precision: Craft clear, actionable requirements, create evaluation and quality frameworks for AI features, and prioritize based on impact, effort, and long-term value.
• Measure key performance indicators: Establish success metrics and conduct experiments to systematically enhance accuracy, adoption, and operational efficiency in the field.
• Over 5 years of product management experience, including responsibility for a complex, technical product.
• Proven history of delivering applied AI products - including computer vision, multimodal systems, LLM/agent-based, or ML technologies - that executed significant actions or made decisions in production, rather than just chat integrations or superficial applications.
• Demonstrated experience in applying technology within the physical realm or in traditionally non-tech, unstructured environments (a significant advantage).
• Strong technical proficiency - able to engage effectively alongside engineers and ML teams, analyze system tradeoffs, review evaluations, and delve into data to resolve inquiries autonomously.
• A proactive self-starter who thrives in ambiguous situations, acts swiftly, and drives cross-functional outcomes without extensive processes.
• A recognized thought leader in emerging AI - staying close to the cutting edge and holding a perspective on its applications.
• Experience in 0→1 product development: hands-on involvement in taking a product from concept to launch and achieving real-world adoption.
• Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating seamlessly between field requirements, technical teams, and executive leadership.
• Availability to travel to Texas monthly to work closely with our field teams.
• An interest in construction and the built environment is advantageous; while prior industry experience is not required, a quick learning curve in the domain is expected.
