Senior Product Manager, Data Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the metrics that articulate how Mural creates value and ensure they are recognized as a common foundation.

• Analyze raw product events to define metrics, their calculations, and the necessary data structures.

• Influence the development of Mural’s data products from merely reporting past events to steering future actions.

• Collaborate across the Govern & Trust portfolio to integrate insights into the operational use of Mural by organizations.

• Define shared metrics across products, including activity, collaboration, and adoption.

• Set benchmarks for product teams to consistently define and publish metrics.

• Collaborate with Data Engineering to establish standards for the metric layer and event protocols.

• Provide guidance to domain product managers on key performance indicators.

• Ensure product data is accessible for internal teams to explore autonomously.

• Work alongside Business Analytics to synchronize product-oriented and business-oriented reporting.

• Oversee the strategy and roadmap for Insights, covering in-product reporting, dashboards, exports, APIs, audit logs, and reporting methodologies.

• Package and deploy Mural’s customer-facing reporting MCP server, detailing exposed data, plan availability, and safeguards.

• Define natural-language and agent-driven analysis features for Insights.

• Establish instrumentation requirements for each product regarding granularity and data retention.

• Collaborate with R&D and Data Engineering to enhance event quality and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in product management.

• Proven experience in delivering at least one analytics or reporting product utilized by paying business customers.

• Proficient in defining the metrics that underpin an analytics or reporting product.

• Demonstrated ability to make unorganized or conflicting data reliable.

• Experience in reconciling varying definitions and drafting metric specifications for engineers.

• Background in facilitating changes to upstream instrumentation.

• Experience in developing platform products aimed at internal teams or developers.

• Familiarity with creating end-user-facing data products such as analytics, reporting, or insights.

• Working knowledge of event pipelines, data warehouses, lakehouses, dbt-style modeling, and semantic layers.

• Capability to write SQL and independently extract data.

• Skill in achieving consensus among product managers, data engineers, analysts, finance, and go-to-market teams.

• Experience with enterprise administration or governance products, including IAM, security, compliance, or audit processes.

• Practical experience with semantic layer tools like dbt Semantic Layer, Cube, or LookML.

• Experience in designing APIs, MCP servers, or analytics connectors.
