This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +5 more states.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of aviation customers, their workflows, and user personas, including pilots, dispatchers, patrol teams, and other operators within the DFR ecosystem.
• Convert regulatory, market, and competitive factors into product strategy and roadmap priorities, keeping abreast of developments across FAA, FCC, and beyond.
• Collaborate closely with Engineering to manage technical projects from start to finish and make well-informed tradeoff decisions regarding hardware, embedded software, connectivity, and cloud systems.
• Take ownership of roadmap sequencing and prioritization for aviation product investments, balancing immediate execution with long-term product vision.
• Work collaboratively with Design, Operations, Customer Success, Training, Legal, Compliance, and GTM to ensure the product evolves in ways that align with customer outcomes and operational realities.
• Acquire sufficient technical fluency in core architecture and subsystems to guide product decisions with confidence and clarity.
• Lead prioritization, scoping, and intake discussions within the engineering team and across related product and engineering groups.
• Clearly represent customer needs and product direction to internal stakeholders while aligning aviation priorities with the overall company strategy.
• Proven experience in product management within complex, technical environments where hardware, software, and operational systems intersect.
• Strong capability to navigate ambiguous, fast-paced environments and transform incomplete information into a coherent strategy.
• Demonstrated success in deeply partnering with engineering teams on technical tradeoffs, execution, and roadmap development.
• Ability to learn and effectively navigate domain-specific regulatory constraints, utilizing them to shape product direction.
• Strong customer insight and market judgment, capable of linking user needs to product strategy and execution.
• Comfort in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including engineering, design, operations, legal, compliance, GTM, and leadership.
• Interest in or experience with aviation, autonomous systems, robotics, drones, or similarly regulated product domains is preferred but not mandatory.
