Group Product Manager – Education & Certification

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the vision, business strategy, and product rollout roadmap for education, certification, and publishing offerings targeting both B2C and B2B audiences.

• Align product objectives with organizational goals, market opportunities, and the needs of customer segments.

• Create segment-specific strategies that cater to the unique requirements of individual learners as well as enterprise, government, and academic partners.

• Prioritize new product opportunities and enhancements by analyzing market data, revenue potential, operational readiness, and stakeholder feedback.

• Maintain a comprehensive portfolio view of offerings to balance growth, sustainability, and innovation initiatives effectively.

• Manage a structured lifecycle approach for assigned products from conception through growth, optimization, and retirement.

• Define criteria and governance for identifying underperforming or redundant products.

• Develop and implement sunsetting plans that encompass customer impact assessment, communication strategies, migration paths, and revenue risk management.

• Collaborate with marketing, sales, learner support, and operations to facilitate seamless transitions when products are retired or consolidated.

• Conduct market and customer research to uncover trends, learner and employer needs, and market gaps across B2C and B2B segments.

• Monitor competitor offerings to guide product differentiation, pricing, and packaging strategies for each audience.

• Create business cases, pricing models, packaging recommendations, and revenue forecasts for new and existing products in both B2C and B2B markets.

• Track performance against KPIs, including revenue, enrollments, completion rates, enterprise client adoption, renewal trends, and customer satisfaction.

• Suggest adjustments to enhance product performance, profitability, and long-term portfolio health.

• Collaborate with marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, messaging, and campaigns tailored for B2C and B2B audiences.

• Oversee product positioning, branding, and value propositions to ensure market relevance and coherent portfolio storytelling.

• Support launch readiness across sales, marketing, training support, and customer success teams.

• Collaborate closely with instructional design, content development, and technology teams to ensure alignment of product vision with market needs.

• Partner with sales, marketing, and customer success teams to boost adoption, retention, and account expansion in B2B markets.

• Work with certification and credentialing stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and integrity of credentials.

• Analyze product analytics and customer feedback to drive continuous improvements in content, experience, and commercial performance.

• Identify and implement enhancements that lead to improved learner outcomes, employer value, and business results.

• Stay updated on trends in online learning, certification, professional development, credentialing, and workforce demands.

• Propose innovations in delivery, technology, and business models that serve both consumer and enterprise markets.


⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in product management, ideally within education, e-learning, certification, or professional training sectors (focusing on non-software products and ongoing education).

• 4+ years in a product leadership or business unit leadership role, accountable for the financial performance of a portfolio of products and business units.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education, or a related field (MBA preferred).

• Proven track record managing the full product lifecycle, including substantial experience with business cases, assessing and developing new product opportunities, rationalizing current products, and sunsetting.

• Demonstrated success in developing strategies for both B2C and B2B products, including variations in packaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategies.

• Proven ability to convert customer and business needs into product requirements and actionable initiatives that yield business outcomes.

• Strong business acumen, including experience with P&L management, market analysis, forecasting, and pricing strategies.

• Experience with international education products and localization is a plus.

• Exceptional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams across the organization.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities informed by data-driven decision-making, using data to guide prioritization, resources, and decisions.

• Familiarity with learning management systems, credentialing platforms, and emerging learning technologies is advantageous.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, adaptable to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Highly organized, self-motivated, and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
