• Conduct market trend analysis, evaluate competitive positioning, assess payor dynamics, formulate pricing strategies, and analyze clinical evidence to create data-informed product investment recommendations.
• Articulate and relay market requirements and opportunity assessments to guide product development choices; oversee commercial stage-gate evaluations and lifecycle management from inception to end-of-life.
• Act as the commercial and customer advocate throughout the product development cycle, developing business models, sharing voice of customer (VOC) insights, market intelligence, and competitive analysis to guide product decisions.
• Establish clearly defined problem statements and market requirements that provide the product development team with a comprehensive understanding of unmet customer needs.
• Create and manage go-to-market strategies for product rollouts and line extensions, including segment identification, value proposition formulation, pricing justification, channel strategy, and sequencing of launches.
• Facilitate launch readiness evaluations and coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Clinical Education, and Operations to ensure that all downstream stakeholders are adequately prepared.
• Monitor commercial key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue performance and adoption metrics, identifying and addressing barriers to adoption through cross-functional collaboration.
• Oversee the marketing brief for designated product lines, determining target demographics, key messages, proof points, and calls to action for each buyer and influencer segment (patient, prosthetist, payer, referring physician).
• Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to create clinically credible, differentiated marketing campaigns and sales enablement resources, including training manuals, objection handling guides, competitive positioning documents, product summaries, and demo scripts.
• Track adoption metrics following product launch, identify execution shortcomings, and devise corrective action plans; assist in the creation of clinically evidence-based marketing materials, such as outcome summaries and peer education resources.
• Design and conduct VOC initiatives: clinician interviews, patient feedback sessions, field ride-alongs, and key opinion leader (KOL) engagement.
• Integrate qualitative and quantitative feedback into prioritized problem statements that inform product specifications, positioning, and commercial strategy.
• Evaluate competitive positioning, payer trends, and market dynamics to uncover actionable insights; provide feedback to stakeholders regarding how insights have influenced decisions.
• Foster alignment among senior functional leaders on complex, multi-workstream projects; lead cross-functional teams to manage interdependencies without causing delays; proactively escalate risks with suggested solutions.
• Mentor and support the wider product management team across various brands and portfolios, exemplifying PM best practices and contributing to team skill enhancement.
• Establish success metrics and measurement frameworks for each product; track performance and develop data-driven strategies backed by return on investment (ROI) analyses.
• Recognize trends in clinical utilization, sales, and outcomes data to guide prioritization; present clear, audience-appropriate reports and strategic recommendations to leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, or healthcare; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• At least 8+ years of experience in Marketing, Consulting, or a related field (6 years with an advanced degree).
• Experience in project or program management.
• Proven track record in global launch strategy and execution.
• Familiarity with orthotics and prosthetics (O&P), prosthetics, rehabilitation medicine, or physical/occupational therapy.
• Experience collaborating with clinical practitioners or in a clinical sales or marketing role.
• Knowledge of medical device regulatory fundamentals (FDA classification, 510(k)) and reimbursement frameworks (CMS, L-codes, prior authorization).
