📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete ecommerce product journey, encompassing everything from discovery and search to checkout and post-purchase activities, including vision, roadmap creation, prioritization, execution, and insights gathering.

• Design and implement experiments aimed at enhancing conversion metrics, minimizing friction in the purchasing process, and achieving measurable gains in educator engagement and expenditure.

• Balance the diverse needs of two key customer groups: educators seeking accessible, high-quality resources for their classrooms, and content partners whose strategic growth relies on Follett's marketplace.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, and Data teams to convert strategy into actionable requirements, formulate A/B test hypotheses, and swiftly adapt based on user behavior and business impact.

• Conduct continuous customer research and gather market insights to comprehend educator requirements, challenges in content discovery and purchasing, and adoption barriers.

• Define and communicate product strategy, roadmap direction, and success criteria in a manner that unites teams around educator value and sustainable business development.

• Utilize analytics and experimentation to assess product performance, pinpoint opportunities for conversion enhancements, and make data-driven prioritization choices.

• Work alongside Customer Success, Support, Sales, and Marketing to gather educator feedback, refine messaging regarding value and academic integrity, and ensure robust product-market fit.

• Identify dependencies, risks, and trade-offs early, especially where educator needs and content partner interests may conflict, and work pragmatically across functions to resolve such issues.

• Clearly represent the product and strategy to internal stakeholders through roadmap updates, experiment findings, performance insights, and business recommendations.

• Stay updated on K-12 trends, educator challenges, content distribution methods, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to ensure product relevance and competitiveness in the marketplace.

• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Proven expertise in executing A/B tests, designing experiments, and using quantitative analysis to guide product decisions and assess business impact.

• Strong grasp of ecommerce fundamentals, including user psychology, conversion funnel optimization, pricing strategies, and marketplace dynamics.

• Ability to balance competing stakeholder needs pragmatically—experience in managing tensions between various customer segments or business models is highly valued.

• Deep customer empathy, demonstrating a strong ability to understand and articulate user pain points, translate them into product insights, and develop solutions that resonate with educators.

• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, capable of balancing long-term vision with immediate execution and experimentation velocity.

• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and building alignment among Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and go-to-market stakeholders on shared objectives.
