Senior Product Designer, Platform & Device Interfaces

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Create designs for both CellarioOS software and device interfaces, bringing them together under a cohesive design system and a unified visual design language that integrates every aspect of the user experience, from physical to digital.

• Simplify complex and abstract technical requirements — derived from engineering, hardware limitations, or laboratory science — into clear user problems and needs that the team can address through design.

• Take ownership of the Lab Designer tool and system visualization projects, assisting users in quickly understanding and configuring their laboratory environments.

• Collaborate daily with the research and visual design team members within your pod, as well as with Engineering and Product Management, from initial concept development to final product release.

• Rapidly prototype using AI-driven tools, transitioning from sketches to interactive, testable prototypes in days instead of weeks.

• Design and assess generative interface patterns — user interfaces that adapt, assemble, or respond dynamically to AI-generated input — as the agentic capabilities of CellarioOS expand.

• Participate in co-design workshops, design reviews, and usability assessments, translating research insights into prioritized design choices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in product or UX design for intricate SaaS, enterprise, or hardware-related platforms.

• Experience in designing for both software and physical/hardware interfaces, or a strong desire to engage in both areas.

• Comfort in working with and advancing a shared design system across various platforms.

• An AI-focused toolkit: proficiency in prototyping with AI-assisted design and coding tools, along with practical experience in creating generative or AI-adaptive interfaces.

• Excellent facilitation and storytelling abilities — capable of presenting to scientists, engineers, and executives with ease.

• Skill in translating complex, multi-step user journeys into interfaces that are straightforward and intuitive.

• A portfolio demonstrating completed product work from a fast-paced team environment.

• Availability to maintain consistent daily overlap with US Eastern Time hours, irrespective of your location.
