Senior Product Designer, Member App

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design process for 9amHealth’s member application, from initial discovery to interaction and visual design, implementation, and subsequent iterations.

• Create onboarding experiences, care tasks, habit-building journeys, and re-engagement flows.

• Establish success metrics, monitor key interactions, and assess activation, conversion rates, task completion, retention, and ongoing engagement.

• Develop code-based prototypes and leverage AI-assisted tools to test user behavior and explore concepts.

• Perform member research, validate assumptions, and identify barriers to user experience.

• Advance accessible design-system components and interaction patterns in collaboration with designers and engineers.

• Partner with clinicians, coaches, and care coordinators to minimize unnecessary work for the Care Team.

• Balance the needs of members, clinical requirements, operational capabilities, and business objectives.

• Record design decisions and report findings to the Head of Design.

• Collaborate daily with a product manager, front-end and back-end engineers, QA team, and other product designers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading design for a consumer product or significant product area from a vague problem to a completed outcome.

• Proficient in interaction design, visual hierarchy, content creation, and product detailing.

• Strong product judgment and the ability to articulate design choices, critique work, respond to feedback, and adapt based on evidence.

• Competence in utilizing quantitative data and research to assess product performance.

• Knowledge of behavior-change design, motivation, progress tracking, setbacks, and habit formation.

• Skills in user research, including method selection, formulating effective questions, and applying insights.

• Proficient in Figma, code-based prototyping, and AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Claude.

• Practical knowledge of accessibility for users with varying abilities, health literacy, and technology confidence.

• Initiative with clear written and verbal communication skills.

• Availability to work during Eastern Time hours.

• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship; applicants will be asked if they will require future sponsorship.
