Senior Product Designer – Design Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and assess current design systems, processes, and operational models.

• Assist clients in formulating design system strategies, roadmaps, governance frameworks, and adoption strategies.

• Create and develop scalable systems including components, patterns, foundations, and documentation.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure systems function effectively across both design and code.

• Enhance consistency, quality, accessibility, and scalability across products and user experiences.

• Leverage AI and emerging technologies to optimize the creation, maintenance, and evolution of systems.

• Support teams in navigating implementation and adoption challenges.

• Educate clients on best practices and pathways to achieving their goals.

• Contribute to thought leadership, accelerators, and reusable methodologies that enhance the capabilities of Product Studio.

• Profound expertise in design systems and scalable product design.

• Experience in building, evolving, and governing design systems utilized across multiple teams, products, or business units.

• Strong understanding of component architecture, design tokens, accessibility, and cross-platform consistency.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with both designers and engineers.

• Excellent consulting and communication abilities.

• Capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.

• Experience in assisting teams with the adoption and operationalization of design systems.

• Extensive experience integrating AI into daily practices and exploring its impact on design system creation and management.

• A mindset of curiosity, pragmatism, and a preference for taking action.

• A portfolio showcasing both strategic insight and hands-on execution.

• Experience in enterprise contexts is advantageous; familiarity with enterprise, B2B, technology, software, consulting, or platform environments is highly valuable.
