This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Take ownership of ambiguous and loosely defined design challenges from start to finish across various concurrent projects with minimal guidance.
• Act as the primary design liaison during engagements, influencing user experience at the onset and transitioning responsibility to the project team as the work evolves.
• Establish interaction patterns for agent-driven experiences, encompassing user-agent interactions, response frameworks, sequential follow-on actions, and uniform error management.
• Utilize and enhance the design system and component library.
• Create design prototypes in collaboration with Product Managers using Figma, Claude, or code.
• Lead UX evaluations of features, agent responses, generated user interfaces, and layouts prior to release.
• Employ workflows, journey maps, and service mapping to substantiate design rationale and ensure cross-functional alignment.
• Contribute to defining scope, timelines, and synchronization with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success teams.
• Mentor junior designers and elevate the standard of design critique.
• 5-8 years of experience in product design with a proven history of delivering well-crafted products.
• A portfolio showcasing three or more case studies or highlighted projects that demonstrate complex problem-solving, mid-project adaptations, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficiency in Figma, including knowledge of component-driven architecture, variables, and interactive prototypes.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of ambiguous challenges without a detailed specification.
• Advanced design and interaction capabilities, ensuring UX, UI, visual, and accessibility principles are integrated at every interaction.
• Experience in extending and developing design systems.
• Application of relevant concepts and best practices to support design rationale, employing workflows and mapping to validate design decisions.
• Ability to work independently as the design lead on a project with limited supervision.
• Openness to reflect on past projects and express what you would approach differently.
• Preference for experience in designing AI-native, agentic, or conversational products.
• Preference for experience with data-intensive enterprise or analytics products.
• Preference for experience functioning as a shared resource across multiple simultaneous teams.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude and Figma Make is preferred.
• Basic understanding of front-end concepts like components, tokens, states, and responsive behavior is preferred.
• Experience in defense, government, or critical infrastructure environments is preferred.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance is preferred.
