This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the design process from initial problem identification through to launch and ongoing iterations within a key product area, ensuring seamless transitions without any handoffs.
• Transform unclear, high-impact financial and operational workflows into user-friendly experiences that foster trust among users.
• Play an integral role in shaping the product roadmap and strategy by providing a strong, user-focused perspective that influences decision-making rather than merely executing tasks.
• Swiftly move from initial sketches to interactive prototypes, and finally to polished, production-ready designs, utilizing prototyping to test concepts and align team efforts.
• Conduct lightweight, self-directed research and engage directly with churches and nonprofits to validate direction and gather valuable insights.
• Develop and enhance Overflow's design system, laying down the essential foundations, patterns, and guidelines that empower a small team to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences rapidly.
• Engage in design critiques, provide and receive constructive feedback, present work during product leadership reviews, and contribute to defining the design processes at Overflow as the team expands.
• 5–7 years of product design experience, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering successful products from start to finish across both mobile and desktop platforms.
• A portfolio that showcases strong product thinking alongside outstanding visual and interaction design skills, with a keen eye for the details that enhance user experience.
• Experience in designing intricate systems and workflows, not just isolated screens — preferably in B2B, SaaS, fintech, or other sectors with similar complexities and stakes.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and manage projects independently in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.
• Proficiency in prototyping, particularly with Figma, and the capability to articulate nuanced design choices through interactive work.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills — capable of crafting a narrative and vision that unites engineers, product managers, and leadership.
• A collaborative and humble attitude: supportive, enhances the abilities of those around them, and views feedback as a catalyst for growth.
• Competitive base salary with the opportunity for equity participation.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their dependents.
• Generous paid time off along with company holidays.
• Paid parental leave benefits.
• 401(k) retirement savings plan.
• Allocated mental health and therapy stipend to promote personal well-being.
• Team retreats and intentional in-person gatherings throughout the year.
