This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define the user experience for our digital product by creating process artifacts such as User Journeys, Interaction patterns, task-flows, sketches, wireframes, and Visual Design.
• Take responsibility for converting ambiguous or qualitative customer feedback into actionable design hypotheses and workflow enhancements.
• Proactively identify friction points in the product experience; highlight design issues before they are formally assigned to you.
• Utilize AI-powered prototyping tools (including Claude, Replit, Figma Make, and similar) to swiftly generate interactive prototypes for rapid feedback loops with stakeholders and customers.
• Convert AI-assisted prototypes into high-fidelity, developer-ready designs in Figma, ensuring engineers can easily implement designs with minimal ambiguity.
• Engage stakeholders and customers by asking pertinent questions upfront—extract the crucial design inputs and effectively prioritize amidst the noise.
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX Research to pinpoint areas of friction in the mortgage lender workflow and lead design reviews in these areas.
• Seek opportunities to address challenges in unique and innovative ways while ensuring visual and brand consistency across all products and platforms.
• Develop functional prototypes to validate and test your designs.
• 3–5 years of product design experience, with a portfolio showcasing genuine ownership—not merely execution of another's vision.
• Proficiency in Figma is essential—candidates lacking strong Figma experience will not be considered; must produce polished, component-consistent, developer-handoff-ready designs.
• Practical experience with AI tools (e.g., Claude, Figma Make, Replit, or similar) for rapid prototyping; comfortable transitioning quickly from concept to testable artifact.
• A self-starter attitude: you independently identify problems, form perspectives, and drive towards solutions.
• Proven ability to interpret ambiguous customer or stakeholder feedback and translate it into structured, actionable UX improvements.
• A genuine curiosity about the product and its users—you ask the questions that others overlook and refuse to settle for superficial answers.
• Excellent communication skills—capable of confidently presenting design decisions, asking incisive questions during stakeholder reviews, and fostering alignment without being directive.
• Strong foundation in UX design and design thinking principles; able to manage your own workflow and deadlines with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
• A portfolio that illustrates real problem-solving—not just aesthetic polish—across digital product experiences.
• Familiarity with mortgage lending workflows, underwriting processes, or fintech products is advantageous, but a willingness to learn about the domain is more important.
• Comfort with JIRA and Agile environments.
• Flexible work arrangements.
• Professional development opportunities.
