Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop comprehensive experiences for map-centric and AI-enhanced features, guiding them from initial concept to production-ready specifications with the precision and clarity that empower engineers to deliver confidently.

• Translate intricate geospatial and AI-driven processes into user-friendly interfaces that are accessible to non-technical users, ensuring that model outputs, confidence levels, and spatial data are understandable without losing depth.

• Lead user research and usability assessments for our primary user groups (such as analysts, underwriters, and operators), integrating insights into design choices that are based on practical application.

• Collaborate closely with engineers and data scientists throughout the development process, leveraging your front-end expertise to bridge the divide between design vision and implementation excellence.

• Enhance Neural Earth's design framework by establishing scalable patterns for geospatial user interfaces, AI transparency, and data visualization, elevating the quality across the entire product landscape.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of product design experience, showcasing a portfolio that reflects clear ownership of intricate, data-intensive features from problem identification to final product delivery.

• Proven experience in designing geospatial or mapping products, including map user interfaces, spatial dashboards, GIS processes, or location-based applications, with an understanding of their unique interaction challenges.

• Familiarity with designing AI-driven interfaces, including effectively communicating model outputs, uncertainties, and recommendations in ways that foster user trust instead of confusion.

• Proficiency in Figma, with knowledge of components and design systems, enabling effective collaboration with both engineers and stakeholders.

• Adequate front-end knowledge (HTML/CSS/React) to prototype in the browser, review implementations, and identify discrepancies between design and code without needing an engineer's translation.

• Strong communication skills, capable of clearly articulating design rationale to engineers, product managers, and executive stakeholders.

• A proactive self-starter who excels in dynamic, fast-paced environments and assumes ownership of tasks without the need for direction.

• Willingness to accommodate occasional travel as required (approximately 10%).

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive base salary regardless of your work location.

• Company performance-based cash bonuses.

• Predominantly employer-covered health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.

• Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO).

• Group Life Insurance at twice your base salary, covered by the company.

• FSA and HSA options to optimize your healthcare expenditures.
