This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take ownership of the comprehensive design process for core product experiences, demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship, from initial exploration to refined execution. Our goal is to achieve experiences that rival those of Linear, Vercel, Attio, or Raycast.
• Create AI communication workflows (Voice AI, SMS, email) and develop data-intensive interfaces such as campaign builders, journey orchestration, and performance dashboards that effectively balance complexity and simplicity.
• Simplify intricate, multi-step workflows (campaigns, audiences, journeys, integrations) into clear mental frameworks that cater to both single-location SMBs and multi-location enterprise teams.
• Leverage Claude and other AI tools to quickly prototype interactive flows and rigorously test designs with product and engineering teams.
• Contribute to and enhance our design system, a scalable component library based on shadcn/ui that seamlessly integrates with our React + Tailwind stack.
• Regularly engage with customers. Conduct user research with operators in home services businesses to gain a deep understanding of their workflows, translating insights into product strategies and design direction.
• Collaborate with Hatch CSRs and AI specialists to create interfaces that instill trust, control, and brand consistency for our AI across all customer interactions.
• Champion design best practices and collaborate with engineering on aspects of implementation, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• Over 3 years of experience in product design or UX/UI within fast-paced tech environments.
• Proficient in Figma, with the ability to quickly prototype using AI tools like Claude to transition from ideas to functional artifacts.
• Familiar with standard UX/UI patterns and possesses strong visual design instincts, paying attention to hierarchy, typography, and overall polish in every project.
• Highly self-sufficient and proactive. You do not wait for guidance; instead, you identify the right problems, define their scope, and drive them to completion.
• Comfortable with front-end fundamentals (HTML/CSS) and eager to implement small yet impactful UX enhancements in production environments. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or agents is advantageous.
• Strong instincts in information architecture. You can untangle complex feature sets and discover the clear, scalable structure that underlies them.
• Communicates with clarity and curiosity. You can effectively articulate design rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, confidently leading customer interviews that remain focused and delve into pertinent questions.
• Experience in designing complex, data-intensive AI products (e.g., dashboards, workflow builders, conversational or communication interfaces) for enterprise, B2B, or multi-location operators in non-tech sectors like home services.
