Senior Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take complete ownership of the design process for features within Degreed’s learning and skills platform, encompassing everything from problem identification and discovery to specifications, quality assurance, launch, and performance evaluation.

• Conduct customer calls and actively seek direct feedback to enhance design and product understanding.

• Enhance product quality, usability, and overall user experience.

• Expand and sustain Degreed’s component-based design system.

• Review and revise admin settings, profiles, and essential learning workflows to minimize inconsistencies.

• Determine whether new workflows require a visible user interface, and assess what can be managed by AI invisibly versus what should remain visible and auditable.

• Create conversational and agent-facing experiences in addition to traditional user interfaces.

• Collaborate with product and technology leaders to define project scope and requirements.

• Showcase work during design reviews and integrate feedback from cross-functional teams.

• Serve as the design authority for designated pods or product segments.

• Capability to navigate ambiguous or conflicting input from enterprise customers, transforming it into a clear and actionable specification.

• Responsibility for both the interaction model and visual execution.

• Skill in differentiating between explicit customer requests and their underlying needs.

• Ability to assess whether workflows necessitate a visible user interface, taking into account observability, reversibility, and auditability.

• Experience in creating interactive, near-functional prototypes utilizing code or AI-assisted tools.

• Background in prompt engineering for developing and testing conversational agents.

• Solid understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including aspects such as accuracy, latency, and context constraints.

• Proficiency in using AI tools to prototype interactions, generate and compare component variations, and identify workflows appropriate for AI delegation.

• Experience in extending and maintaining component-based design systems.

• Familiarity with conducting discovery research and usability testing.

• Strong emphasis on end users, decision-makers, and the value delivered.
