This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Create comprehensive user flows, navigation paths, and information architectures for the platform, documenting these as wireframes and specifications for engineering teams to implement.
• Oversee CodePath's design system, including interaction patterns, components, and standards that ensure consistency across the platform.
• Conduct streamlined product discovery by engaging with students, staff, and internal stakeholders to identify needs, particularly in platform areas and internal tools lacking a dedicated product manager.
• Collaborate with product managers to transform prioritized projects into designs ready for development, and work alongside engineers to clarify design-related inquiries during the building process.
• Supervise a UI design contractor to enhance your contributions.
• Establish and maintain high standards for user experience quality throughout the product.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience in designing web products from start to finish, accompanied by a portfolio that illustrates your thought process regarding flows and structures, as well as the methodologies behind your work.
• Proficient in information architecture and interaction design. You possess the ability to distill ambiguous challenges into clear flows, navigation models, and specifications.
• Proven experience in conducting your own discovery processes by engaging with users and stakeholders to determine requirements rather than relying solely on fully detailed briefs.
• Background in creating or contributing to a design system.
• Proficient in producing engineer-ready artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, specifications) using Figma or similar tools.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive in small-team environments. You have experience working without a large design organization and can prioritize tasks without having complete information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong enthusiasm for education and a commitment to making a positive impact.
• Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer coverage for employees and their dependents), employer-funded healthcare reimbursement, flexible spending accounts, and an Employee Assistance Program.
• Financial Security: 401(k) plan, employer-paid life and disability insurance, and identity theft protection.
• Work-Life Balance: Generous paid time off, paid holidays, 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and an annual company closure from December 24 to January 2.
• Professional Growth: An annual professional development stipend of $1,000 and support for home office setup.
• Student Loan Forgiveness: CodePath qualifies as an employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program, assisting employees in managing student loan debt.
• Additional Perks: Pet wellness plans, legal services, discounts on home and auto insurance, and exclusive savings in our marketplace.
