Senior Product Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the “mini-GC” for a rapidly growing business unit, serving as the primary legal contact for a wide array of legal matters. Work independently to assess incoming issues, resolve those within your expertise, and escalate complex issues to the appropriate teams and specialists.

• Be the primary legal advisor and partner to multiple teams dedicated to developing Superhuman’s next generation of agents, products, and features.

• Provide guidance to stakeholders such as Product, Design, Marketing, and Engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch and beyond.

• Streamline and simplify legal topics and reviews, acting as an ambassador for these subjects.

• Identify and mitigate legal risks related to products, regulations, privacy, and other areas, particularly concerning our AI agents and products.

• Formulate creative strategies for addressing legal challenges and establish processes for scalable solutions that manage risk effectively.

• Keep abreast of evolving legal and regulatory changes in AI and SaaS; offer guidance to internal stakeholders as needed.

• Become proficient in AI legal issues and assist in ensuring compliance with AI regulations.

• Oversee and manage components of our intellectual property portfolio.

• Create and provide training on pertinent topics.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least your local jurisdiction.

• Over 7 years of applicable legal experience, including a combination of large and small B2B SaaS or technology firms, as well as experience at a prestigious law firm.

• Comprehensive understanding of relevant legal fields, such as intellectual property, AI governance, and data privacy regulations.

• A proven track record of fostering a culture that encourages reaching “yes, if…” outcomes.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity, with a creative problem-solving mindset and a quick learning aptitude.

• A collaborative team player who leads with humility and possesses a good sense of humor.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities, adept at creating and maintaining “neural networks” across the organization and skilled at adapting communication for various audiences.

• Experience in witnessing legal functions expand at various scales, with a knack for recognizing best practices. Bonus points if you’re already utilizing our products effectively!

• Demonstrated capability to work autonomously with minimal direction, proactively manage tasks and priorities across multiple projects, analyze and execute work efficiently, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and thrive in fast-paced, results-oriented environments.
