Senior Procurement Category Management Specialist – Packaging

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the procurement of key packaging categories for Nestlé Health Science US, managing a complex spend portfolio of approximately $30–$40M across a varied supplier network.

• Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment on business requirements and implement effective sourcing strategies, supplier selection, pricing, contracting, and supplier performance management.

• Formulate and execute both short- and long-term category strategies alongside annual sourcing plans aimed at delivering value and supporting business goals.

• Spearhead supplier negotiations and establish contract pricing, terms, and conditions to secure high-value, cost-efficient agreements.

• Conduct market research and keep abreast of industry trends to refine category strategies and adapt to evolving business needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; ideally in Business, Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline.

• Demonstrable experience in procurement category management supporting manufacturing, commercial, and/or corporate functions across a range of operating models.

• Over 5 years of experience with considerable subject matter expertise in packaging categories, preferably in food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, personal care, or chemical industries.

• Proven track record in strategic sourcing and category management, which includes supplier selection, contract negotiation, and implementation.

• Strong understanding of procurement methodologies and supplier markets.

• Established analytical skills, including data analysis and process enhancement.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
