Senior Process Control Engineer – Capital Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer guidance on process control for significant capital projects

• Engage in the development or selection of standard control technologies

• Supply technical expertise for the scope development of capital projects

• Serve as Project Discipline Lead and chief engineer

• Create and evaluate project scopes, estimates, and schedules for electrical components

• Design both conceptual and detailed engineering solutions

• Participate in the evaluation and selection of bids

• Provide field engineering support throughout construction, startup, and commissioning phases

• Train operators, supervisors, and personnel in process control engineering

• Direct internal and external engineering teams for project proposals, execution, and adherence to engineering standards

• Offer personal development guidance for Process Control Engineering staff

• Guide the selection of instrument specifications and control valves

• Lead or assist in the checkout and startup support for new or modified control systems and processes

• Provide support during forced and maintenance outages

• Collaborate with operational support partners to implement digital capabilities for ongoing remote support

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automation or Process Control

• Familiarity with Automation or Process Controls involving DCS systems

• Proven experience in leading automation projects and executing project activities

• Understanding of both theoretical and practical dimensions of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of continuous manufacturing

• Willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time, depending on project needs

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical or Electrical Engineering (preferred)

• Experience as a Process Control Engineer on capital projects (preferred)

• Leadership experience in Automation or Process Control (preferred)

• Proficient in Honeywell Experion and/or Emerson Delta V (preferred)

• Background in control systems within the pulp and paper industry (preferred)
