This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct software design and development efforts across various engineering teams and principal software engineers.
• Enhance delivery speed and quality by leveraging technical expertise, leadership, and effective communication of best practices.
• Act as a primary contact within a large IT portfolio to promote the learning and adoption of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with third-party vendors to fulfill technical requirements and promote interoperability.
• Provide support to 4–6 development teams across different products and/or APIs.
• Ensure optimal resource utilization, system design, refactoring, cloud-cost optimization, and improvements to the codebase.
• Facilitate portfolio-level Principal meetings to ensure alignment, consistency, and knowledge sharing.
• Develop reusable foundational code components across the portfolio.
• Create proofs of concept using new technologies and assist in their portfolio-wide adoption.
• Oversee cloud-resource usage and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Tackle and resolve highly complex technical issues.
• Present at and participate in conferences while integrating new technologies and concepts.
• Offer leadership, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports.
• Conduct annual and mid-year performance reviews, providing constructive feedback.
• Attract, retain, develop, and inspire talent.
• Define technology solutions and contribute to the development of technology roadmaps.
• Eliminate roadblocks and bottlenecks in cross-functional projects.
• Promote thought leadership, innovation, tooling adoption, and technology enablement.
• Address urgent issues and outages promptly.
• Respond to inquiries from project, product, and support teams.
• Mediate technology disputes among local teams.
• Collaborate with vendors to implement enhancements to software product features.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Expertise in a minimum of two technologies utilized by THD IT.
• Familiarity with common business processes in the retail sector.
• Experience in Agile/Lean development methodologies.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Preferred: 7–9 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: One area of expertise should involve a programming language.
• Preferred: Ability to quickly grasp complex systems.
• Preferred: Mastery in designated domains.
• Preferred: Active involvement in or leadership of professional groups related to specific domains.
• Preferred: 5 years of prior leadership experience.
• Typically requires overnight travel of less than 15% of the time.
• No certifications required.
• Remote/Virtual work arrangement.
• Salary range of $170,000.00–$240,000.00 for specified jurisdictions.
