Senior Principal Engineer, Photonics Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive photonics product architecture for silicon photonics AI connectivity solutions.

• Develop AI connectivity solutions by establishing system-level product architectures.

• Participate in Intel's Silicon Photonics strategy focused on AI infrastructure.

• Facilitate the smooth integration of photonic components, electronic interfaces, thermal management, packaging, and AI system requirements.

• Lead the creation of innovative architectures, including 112Gbaud+ connectivity, advanced multi-wavelength systems, and cutting-edge packaging methods for AI workloads.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optical Engineering, or a related field, along with 8+ years of experience in a relevant area and 8+ years of industry experience.

• Over 8 years of expertise in silicon photonics system architecture and integration, from concept to high-volume manufacturing.

• Extensive (10+ years) experience in designing and architecting photonic systems for high-performance computing or AI applications.

• Proven ability to lead intricate, multi-disciplinary technical programs involving photonic systems.

• In-depth knowledge of optical interconnect architecture.

• Strong foundation in AI/ML infrastructure requirements and the challenges of compute interconnect scaling.

• Experience in system-level modeling and/or performance optimization for high-bandwidth optical links.

• Demonstrated technical leadership in directing the efforts of senior engineering teams.

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills: working alongside AI hardware, process, test, packaging, and applications teams.

• Strong executive communication skills: capable of presenting a strategic technical vision to senior leadership and external partners.

• Strategic problem-solving approach: proven ability to design solutions for complex system-level challenges.
