Senior Premium Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Ensure the smooth operation of the Premium Accounting department.

• Propose enhancements to the policies, controls, and procedures of Premium Accounting.

• Provide assistance and undertake project work for the Premium Accounting Director and upper management as required.

• Oversee Premium Accounting activities to address issues and uphold customer service standards.

• Offer expert advice on underwriting and insurance accounting issues to brokerage and processing teams.

• Respond promptly with limited information to make well-informed decisions regarding accounting or company issues.

• Demonstrate the ability to utilize extensive insurance knowledge and thorough analysis to address both underwriting and accounting operational challenges.

• Communicate confidently to influence departmental leadership decisions.

• Supervise the transition and testing phases for new acquisitions, including responsibilities related to accounting transitions.

• Oversee and evaluate departmental system automation projects, including but not limited to AIM, ImageRight, CARL, and Concept One.

• Support and mentor Accounting Team Supervisors.

• Assess and reduce any advance or write-off requests to minimize the company's financial risk.

• Collaborate with front office producers and back-office department leaders to resolve situational challenges.

• Undertake special projects and other relevant responsibilities as assigned.

• Proven experience in a premium accounting position.

• Minimum of 3 years of management experience is preferred.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Proficient in accounting principles.

• Experience in payment reconciliation.

• Capable of financial analysis and reporting.

• Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Competence in reviewing insurance policies.

• Knowledge of loss-sensitive programs.

• Experience in business process improvement.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
