Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, Nordic region

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the sales team to create and implement unstructured data solutions that meet the specific needs of Nordic and Dutch enterprises.

• Operate autonomously and in conjunction with OEM storage experts (Cisco, Arrow, etc.) to assess and progress opportunities within the region.

• Facilitate technical deep-dive discussions, whiteboarding sessions, and solution architectures that encompass cross-border data replication, hybrid-cloud bursting, and multi-protocol file access.

• Conduct Proof of Concept deployments both on-premises and in the public cloud to address technical objections effectively.

• Develop technical proposals and responses to RFPs that outline Qumulo's architecture, data protection strategies, and performance at scale.

• Conduct whitespace reviews, create account maps, and engage in business planning to enhance regional forecasting accuracy and thoughtfully challenge customer technical directions.

• Monitor regional trends, such as localized AI training clusters and EU sovereign cloud regulations, and contribute to technical content and case studies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Dutch and professional fluency in both written and spoken English.

• Over 5 years of experience in pre-sales systems engineering, with at least 3 years dedicated to unstructured data, file, and object storage.

• Strong understanding of core operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix/BSD) and file/object protocols (NFS, SMB, S3).

• Practical experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) with cloud architect certifications being a plus.

• Familiarity with the file and object storage market and major players (NetApp, Dell PowerScale/Isilon, Vast Data, EverPure, Ceph, Lustre, Scality, Weka, etc.).

• A consultative, value-driven sales approach with a proven history of guiding enterprise deals from initial pitch to alignment with technical champions.

• Willingness to travel 30–40% throughout the Nordics and Netherlands for customer engagements, PoC implementations, and partner events.

• Additional advantages include knowledge of the regional landscape, such as Nordic green/hyperscale data centers and high-density cooling (liquid, submerged, free-air) or the Dutch connectivity ecosystem (FLAP-D hubs, AMS-IX and other internet exchanges), experience delivering scale-out storage solutions in Media & Entertainment (VFX), Life Sciences (genomics), Energy, or HPC/AI, as well as an understanding of EU data privacy and sovereign cloud regulations.
