Senior Practice Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee the Medical Assistant team in both virtual and in-clinic environments, setting clear workflows, productivity benchmarks, and performance indicators.

• Manage operational support for providers, encompassing scheduling, patient preparation, workflows, documentation, and capacity management.

• Act as the primary escalation point for operational issues related to scheduling, workflows, MA support, and electronic medical records (EMR).

• Function as the operational expert on Athena, enhancing workflows, templates, scheduling, task routing, documentation, and reporting processes.

• Foster a culture in which every patient is treated as a guest, ensuring that interactions are professional, warm, responsive, personalized, and straightforward.

• Track patient feedback, satisfaction, operational trends, and team performance to uncover opportunities for ongoing enhancement.

• Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and development of the team.

• Create and manage operational key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient access, provider productivity, scheduling efficiency, patient satisfaction, MA performance, Athena workflows, and staff engagement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive, hands-on experience with Athena EMR/Athenahealth is mandatory.

• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations.

• Proven experience in managing Medical Assistants or comparable frontline clinical support teams.

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams in both virtual/remote and in-person clinical settings.

• Experience in managing provider templates, appointment types, capacity, and utilization.

• Strong comprehension of ambulatory, outpatient, telehealth, hybrid, or multi-site healthcare operations.

• Proven capability in developing workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), performance metrics, and accountability frameworks.

• A strong customer service orientation and a genuine belief that healthcare can and should provide an improved experience.
