This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Execute on-site transformer services, including the installation of new units, corrective maintenance, and upgrades.
• Support team leaders by coordinating on-site resources, assigned crew members, and outsourced services.
• Participate in daily morning meetings with crews and/or customer representatives to outline the day's tasks.
• Recognize and report any EHS/HSE issues related to the job scope.
• Aid in the operation and control of vacuum processing rigs and related equipment.
• Assist with or supervise field testing or the commissioning of relevant units.
• Engage in the development and enhancement of standard procedures for transformer installation and maintenance services.
• Offer technical support in the preparation and submission of technical documentation.
• Collaborate in creating inspection criteria with both external and internal clients for transformer services.
• Work in conjunction with clients and the GE engineering team to ensure the erection, commissioning, and maintenance of power-transformer systems.
• Operate support equipment and provide emergency on-call support for customers' continuous production needs throughout the year.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
• At least 2 years of field experience, specifically in mechanical and/or electrical roles associated with power transformers or other eBOP equipment.
• Relevant experience with high-voltage breakers, switchgear, and associated devices is beneficial.
• An Associate’s degree in an Electrical/Mechanical field, preferably with a focus on Power Transformer or HV/MV apparatus specialization.
• Mechanical expertise gained from technical training institutes and/or military service, along with proven field experience, is encouraged.
• Leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Proficient with IT and multiple software applications.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and one-line diagrams is required.
• A CDL license is preferred, or the ability to obtain one.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
