Senior Power Delivery Field Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Carry out installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on electrical distribution systems.

• Implement startup, commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on electrical power distribution systems.

• Conduct field service operations on low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches (ATS), PLCs, and power management systems.

• Identify equipment and system malfunctions and execute corrective measures.

• Assist with retrofitting, upgrades, modernization initiatives, and urgent service requests.

• Create electrical diagrams, schematics, and bills of material as needed.

• Provide outstanding customer service and cultivate strong relationships with clients.

• Compile service reports, commissioning reports, and customer documentation.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, along with 8+ years of experience in field service or engineering related to electrical power distribution systems.

• Comprehensive knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

• Familiarity with protective relays (SEL, GE Multilin, or similar).

• Experience in commissioning, maintaining, or troubleshooting power distribution systems.

• Capability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and protection/control drawings.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel up to 70% of the time.

• Candidates must possess existing work authorization to be employed by ABB in the United States.
