Senior Power BI, Databricks ETL Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain Databricks ETL/ELT pipelines for Medicaid claims, eligibility, encounters, provider files, and supplementary datasets.

• Ingest data from MMIS systems, state data warehouses, managed care organizations, and various Medicaid data sources.

• Implement transformation, validation, and enrichment logic in accordance with Medicaid data quality standards, T-MSIS, HIPAA-compliant formats, and state-specific coding regulations.

• Optimize Spark jobs for enhanced performance and cost efficiency across extensive Medicaid datasets.

• Construct and uphold Data Lake models that support auditability, lineage, and compliance with state and federal Medicaid reporting requirements.

• Develop Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports tailored for Medicaid operations.

• Implement advanced DAX measures and key performance indicators for Medicaid programs.

• Apply dimensional modeling to address Medicaid analytics use cases.

• Collaborate with Medicaid program staff, policy teams, actuaries, and data governance groups.

• Maintain thorough documentation of data mappings, transformation logic, and business rules specific to Medicaid.

• Provide support for deployments across DEV, STG, UAT, and PRD environments.

• Enforce data governance and security controls, including protections for PHI/PII and role-based access in Power BI.

• Support CI/CD pipelines for Medicaid data and business intelligence artifacts.

• Monitor data pipelines and address data quality issues related to claims, eligibility, and provider files.

• Utilize PBM/PBA data for Medicaid pharmacy programs when applicable.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of programming or testing experience with relevant programming languages, relational databases, operating systems, and software.

• Experience in supporting state Medicaid agencies, MMIS modernization, or Medicaid managed care analytics.

• Familiarity with T-MSIS, CMS reporting requirements, and state-specific Medicaid data standards.

• Knowledge of workflows related to Medicaid claims adjudication, eligibility determination, provider enrollment, and encounter submission.

• Experience in Medicaid quality, compliance, or program integrity reporting.

• Extensive experience with Medicaid claims, eligibility, provider, and encounter data.

• Strong technical proficiency in Databricks, ETL/ELT development, and Power BI.

• Understanding of Medicaid data structures, program regulations, and state-specific reporting requirements.

• Experience with Spark, DAX, dimensional modeling, Data Lake models, CI/CD, and data governance/security controls.

• Willingness to use video cameras during all interviews and the first week of orientation.
