Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS or self-hosted) on AWS, ensuring optimal availability and security.

• Develop and sustain GitHub Workflows and internal developer tools to enhance engineering productivity.

• Automate the provisioning of infrastructure and operational tasks utilizing Python alongside tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, and Helm.

• Establish and uphold platform standards concerning observability, cost management, resource scaling, and proactive incident management.

• Collaborate with application teams to facilitate containerized workloads and address infrastructure challenges.

• Work together with Customer Success teams by delivering reliable and scalable tools that support smooth customer onboarding, integrations, and service delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes (including cluster administration, Helm, RBAC, networking, etc.).

• Proficiency in Python or similar languages for scripting, automation, and developing internal tools.

• Understanding of infrastructure-as-code methodologies (Terraform, OpenTofu, and Helm).

• A collaborative attitude and adaptability to a dynamic work environment.

• Knowledge of multi-account AWS strategies, AWS Organizations, and landing zone architectures for enterprise-scale setups.

• Experience with multi-tenancy designs.

• Familiarity with service meshes (such as Istio) for managing microservice communication, traffic policies, and mutual TLS.

• Experience with GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or Flux for declarative and version-controlled infrastructure and application deployment.

• Exposure to container security tools like Falcon, Grype/Syft, or similar, along with OPA or Kyverno for policy enforcement and vulnerability scanning.

• Experience with observability frameworks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK/OpenSearch stack for metrics, logging, and distributed tracing across various Kubernetes Clusters.

• In-depth knowledge of integrating Kubernetes with AWS Services (e.g., vpc-cni, external-secrets, ALB Ingress, Security Groups, etc.).
