Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ecuador.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with teams to initiate projects through practical implementation, assess current infrastructure, and drive enhancements.

• Identify client requirements and work together on technical roadmaps and effective solutions that align with business objectives.

• Contribute to the development and expansion of Thoughtworks’ cloud and infrastructure practice alongside practitioners, business development, marketing, and capabilities development teams.

• Create controls and procedures for ongoing delivery and the evolution of infrastructure and applications.

• Facilitate automation throughout all phases of the delivery process.

• Oversee projects to ensure that technical expectations for deliverables are consistently achieved.

• Offer expertise in DevOps, cloud, platform, and infrastructure engineering both internally and at client sites.

• Build partnerships with client engineering leadership.

• Propose innovative solutions to challenges and business policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Capability to assist in the design and implementation of enterprise and/or web-scale hosting platforms.

• Proficiency in managing application servers, web servers, and databases.

• In-depth knowledge of cloud and virtualization platforms, infrastructure automation, and application hosting technologies.

• Experience collaborating with software delivery teams and familiarity with DevOps principles, Agile methodologies, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Proven experience with at least one IaaS cloud platform.

• Familiarity with two or more application runtime environments, including physical servers, virtual servers, container clusters, serverless architectures, and databases.

• Ability to write scripts in at least one scripting language.

• Comfort in building Linux servers, Windows servers, or container clusters.

• Experience using continuous integration and continuous delivery tools across various technology stacks.

• Experience with monitoring systems focused on availability, performance, or security.

• Understanding of vulnerabilities within infrastructure platforms, secrets management, network security, and software supply chain security.

• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

• Skill in collaborating with infrastructure technicians, support and network analysts, security analysts, system administrators, and/or IT managers.

• Bonus: familiarity with unit testing, automated testing tools, stress testing, and performance testing.
