This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Confirm eligibility status and plan specifications to guarantee accurate inclusion in plan documentation.
• Create, finalize, and manage moderately complex or non-standard benefit plan documents, which include SBCs, SPDs, and SMMs.
• Recognize and comprehend change requests and their specifications with minimal assistance from the Plan Documents Manager.
• Provide support for client and internal inquiries that are escalated due to concerns regarding SBC and SPD language, compliance issues, or customization requests.
• Collaborate with PDM vendors regarding federal/state mandates, governmental changes, or tailored requests.
• Assist with client communications, including introductory calls with clients.
• Oversee and manage a portfolio of business related to Mid-Market, Enterprise, or Strategic accounts and/or designated projects.
• Aid Junior team members with intricate drafting requests.
• Facilitate training for Analysts, Junior team members, or newly hired Senior team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Configuration, Implementation, Client Success, and Product teams.
• Engage with brokers, agents, TPAs, stop loss carriers, vendors, and clients.
• 3–5 years of experience as an employee benefits paralegal or in a similar professional role.
• 3–5 years of experience in Health and Welfare benefits consulting with both ERISA and Non-ERISA plans.
• 3–5 years of experience in client management concerning self-funded plan document creation and administration.
• Must have prior exposure to plan/policy documents, including amendments and SMMs.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Capable of effective time management, appropriate prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
• Proven ability to achieve performance targets, including accuracy and productivity.
• Competent in working independently with minimal supervision.
• Typing speed of 60–70 WPM.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Phia Group’s PDM online portal or similar document management systems is preferred.
• Experience with DOL Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) templates and the SBC Coverage Examples Calculator is preferred.
• Prior exposure to plan/policy documents, including amendments and SMMs, is preferred.
• Compliance or insurance-related certifications are preferred.
• Experience in claims litigation and/or possession of insurance-related designations is preferred.
• 1–3 years of previous training experience is preferred.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
