This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the firm's expert on retirement plan documentation.

• Independently interpret plan provisions, ERISA, and Internal Revenue Code requirements, and assess their application across the firm's portfolio.

• Design and implement plan frameworks.

• Facilitate plan design discussions with sponsors and advisors.

• Convert design decisions into documentation, system, and administrative requirements.

• Oversee firm-wide document initiatives, including regulatory amendments and pre-approved document restatement cycles.

• Define project scope, methodology, and execution from start to finish.

• Provide technical oversight, guidance, training, and final escalation support to Plan Consulting, Compliance, Processing/Onboarding, and Strategic Relationships teams.

• Apply plan provisions and regulatory requirements across the firm's portfolio.

• Analyze and resolve complex, non-routine document issues and inconsistencies among plan documents, system configurations, and plan operations.

• Establish and uphold firm-wide document standards, templates, and drafting guidelines.

• Approve exceptions to standard provisions.

• Review and validate plan document work for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.

• Serve as the ultimate escalation point for complex document-related issues.

• Design plan frameworks with plan sponsors and advisors, finalizing recommended provisions.

• Manage transitions to Plan Consulting and Processing/Onboarding.

• Monitor, interpret, and enact legislative and regulatory changes, including SECURE 2.0 and IRS restatement cycles.

• Lead amendment and restatement projects from impact assessment to completion.

• Develop and provide technical training and guidance.

• Maintain procedures and reference materials.

• Evaluate and enhance plan document systems, workflows, and tools.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.

• Advanced understanding of 401(k) and 403(b) plan design, documentation provisions, compliance, and fiduciary-related topics.

• Proficiency in independently interpreting ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code, and IRS and DOL guidance.

• Capability to establish company-wide documentation standards and plan operations.

• Ability to exercise independent judgment and form defensible conclusions in ambiguous and non-standard scenarios.

• Skill in leading plan design consultations with new plan sponsors and their advisors.

• Ability to translate design objectives into compliant plan documentation and operational requirements.

• Capacity to independently scope, plan, and manage firm-wide document projects across various departments and locations.

• Proficient in developing and delivering technical training and guidance to staff with diverse experience levels.

• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve inconsistencies in plan documentation and operations.

• Strong attention to detail and professional interpersonal skills.

• QKA or QPA certification is preferred.

• Expert-level knowledge of pre-approved and individually designed plan documents is preferred.

• Experience with ASC Plan Document system and DGEM document generation platform is preferred.

• Aptitude for effective communication with internal and/or external customers.

• Must be able to remain stationary 75% of the time or more.

• Must be able to move objects weighing up to a maximum of 10 lbs.

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; employment visa sponsorship is not available.
