Senior PHP Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Switzerland.

📋 Description

• Refactor and enhance existing PHP applications.

• Transition legacy features to contemporary Laravel and PHP versions.

• Improve application performance and elevate code quality.

• Assess, review, and refine AI-generated code when necessary.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Establish meaningful logging and enhance system observability.

• Engage with Docker-based development environments.

• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to deliver features within ambitious timelines.

• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and the ongoing improvement of the platform.

• Contribute to shaping the future architecture of a large-scale online marketplace.

• Leverage AI-powered development tools like Claude to expedite delivery while ensuring high code quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional PHP development experience.

• Proficient in both native PHP and modern PHP frameworks.

• Practical experience with Laravel.

• Strong understanding of MySQL.

• Familiarity with Docker, Redis, and Git.

• Robust background in refactoring and optimizing extensive existing codebases.

• Capability to comprehend, assess, and enhance AI-assisted code without depending on unverified generated output.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative work approach.
