Senior PHP Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Deliver features from start to finish within a framework-free, OOP PHP codebase utilizing namespaces, interfaces, traits, and adhering to SOLID principles.

• Create and implement RESTful endpoints (JSON), incorporating request validation, pagination, error handling, and versioning.

• Develop robust SQL (DDL/DML), optimize queries and indexes, and integrate using PDO with prepared statements.

• Work with MongoDB for document-oriented applications; design effective schemas and aggregation pipelines as necessary.

• Construct and improve front-end interactions utilizing jQuery, HTML/CSS, and Tailwind CSS for rapid and clean UI development.

• Integrate external APIs (REST/Webhooks), manage oauth/token flows, handle retries, idempotency, and develop rate-limit strategies.

• Operate within AWS: deploy applications on Elastic Beanstalk, manage assets in S3, utilize DynamoDB as needed, and maintain healthy environments (logs, scaling, environment variables).

• Manage SSL/TLS certificates and DNS through Cloudflare; ensure zero-downtime renewals and effective caching rules.

• Collaborate with WordPress CMS as required (content ingestion/integration, headless endpoints, custom fields/templates).

• Work closely with another Senior Developer who is well-versed in the platform; participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.

• Take ownership of quality: write pragmatic tests, track metrics, document decisions, and ensure the codebase is neater than you found it.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Core/Vanilla PHP (7.x/8.x) with OOP concepts: interfaces, traits, namespaces, dependency injection, and SOLID principles.

• Experience in RESTful API design & implementation (JSON), authentication patterns, and versioning.

• Mastery of SQL (query optimization, indexing, transactions) and adherence to PDO best practices.

• Understanding of MongoDB basics (schema design, aggregations, performance fundamentals).

• Front-end proficiency in jQuery, semantic HTML, modern CSS, and Tailwind CSS utility workflows.

• Experience with external API integrations (OAuth, webhooks, retries, idempotency, error/bounce handling).

• Familiarity with AWS: Elastic Beanstalk deployments, S3 lifecycle management, DynamoDB usage, environment configuration, and logging/monitoring basics.

• Knowledge of security principles: input validation, prevention of CSRF/XSS/SQL injection, secrets management, and safe file handling practices.

• Expertise in managing SSL/TLS and DNS via Cloudflare (including HSTS, redirects, caching/CDN rulesets, and certificate renewals).

• Experience with WordPress CMS (administration/configuration, theme/plugin interactions, or headless/REST usage).

• Proficient in Git and collaborative workflows (feature branches, code reviews, CI basics).

• Comfortable working with Linux/CLI for diagnostics and automation tasks.
