This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of payroll remittance operations from start to finish, addressing corrections, reversals, overpayments, and contribution remittances while resolving cases within SLA and maintaining clear documentation throughout.
• Act as a point of escalation for intricate union and agency matters; pinpoint the root causes of reporting discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with the appropriate payroll teams.
• Guide and mentor team members on complicated remittance and compliance issues, effectively enhancing the skill levels of your colleagues.
• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring they remain current, comprehensive, and usable without the need for additional training.
• Identify weaknesses in payroll operations processes and present concrete suggestions for enhancements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on payment inquiries, client funding questions, system testing, and payroll-related projects.
• Utilize AI tools to streamline operational workflows and embrace emerging functionalities that boost team efficiency and accuracy.
• Proactively identify potential issues along with proposed solutions and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across teams to ensure resolution.
• Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive, multi-state payroll processing experience.
• Advanced knowledge of union regulations; capable of managing complex remittance and compliance challenges independently.
• Preference for candidates with experience in third-party payroll services or the entertainment/film industry payroll.
• Proficient in Notion and Salesforce, along with intermediate skills in Excel.
• Proven ability to clearly document processes and maintain SOPs that others can easily follow without supervision.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills—comfortable collaborating across teams and with external agencies.
• A proactive mindset toward AI tools; adaptable in implementing new workflows to enhance operational efficiency.
• FPC or CPP certification is preferred.
