Senior Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for the biweekly payroll processing for both salaried and hourly employees in the U.S., which includes daily payroll cycles for non-qualified stock options.

• Compile payroll inputs from various sources, ensuring data validation for accuracy and completeness prior to each payroll cycle.

• Facilitate the prompt resolution of employee payroll inquiries in Jira, adhering to service level agreements (SLA) and conducting root cause analyses to mitigate future issues.

• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams to implement employee changes in payroll and verify data accuracy.

• Oversee timecard tracking and reconciliation to guarantee consistency between timekeeping systems and payroll records.

• Advocate for continuous process enhancements by pinpointing opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in payroll workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in multi-state payroll processing, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax compliance.

• Proven track record in processing payroll for employee groups that receive equity compensation, including restricted stock units.

• Practical expertise with payroll systems (e.g., UKG Pro, Workday HCM) and HRIS integrations in a high-volume setting.

• History of independently resolving complex payroll issues, supported by documented root cause analyses and process improvement results.

• Proficient in Google Workspace, Slack, Atlassian tools (Jira), and Apple products for effective daily collaboration and case management.

• Employs generative AI judiciously, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and enhance workflow efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.

• Familiarity with cloud-native data environments (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and their capabilities regarding metadata, lineage, and governance at scale.
