This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Manage the monthly and semi-monthly payroll processes for 1,000 employees across the APAC region by gathering, calculating, and reviewing data within the HRIS system.
• Ensure the timely and accurate completion of each payroll cycle.
• Process all employee compensation accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain efficient internal controls and business continuity plans for all payroll-related procedures.
• Foster positive relationships with employees, vendors, and colleagues through effective communication.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, HR) regarding payroll-related interdependencies.
• Organize payroll records to ensure compliance with retention policies.
• Establish payroll policies and procedures, focusing on identifying enhancements in systems and processes to improve the employee experience and streamline payroll administration.
• Detect payroll discrepancies through data collection and analysis.
• Handle and reconcile year-end reporting and adjustments, including allowances, stock compensation, year-end bonuses, fringe benefits, and W-2s.
• Prepare necessary monthly journal entries and reconciliations to ensure payroll activities are accurately reflected in consolidated financial statements.
• Provide training and mentorship to Payroll Assistants on payroll-related issues, reporting, taxes, and more.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, such as administrative roles or payroll support.
• Outstanding numerical and data entry abilities, with a focus on speed and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven capability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in business writing.
• Fundamental understanding of payroll regulations and policies, along with general accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
• At least two years of experience with HRIS systems related to HR and/or payroll administrative support is preferred.
• Experience with ADP Celergo is preferred.
