This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Take charge of and enhance the company’s payment operations function.
• Develop a multi-PSP infrastructure by identifying, assessing, negotiating with, onboarding, and integrating payment service providers.
• Evaluate the existing payment setup and establish the future multi-PSP strategy.
• Create a robust multi-provider framework that minimizes concentration and operational risks.
• Design and execute payment orchestration, routing, cascading, and failover mechanisms.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, product, and engineering teams throughout PSP integrations.
• Set up PSP performance evaluations and relationship management processes.
• Oversee payment performance across PSPs, products, countries, and transaction categories.
• Analyze authorization rates, decline rates and their causes, renewal sequences, payment failures, recovery rates, dispute ratios, and fraud ratios.
• Develop retry, cascading, routing, and dunning strategies.
• Enhance failed-payment recovery and decrease involuntary churn.
• Create reports, dashboards, alerts, and monitoring systems for operational decisions and early detection of payment issues.
• Investigate performance fluctuations and coordinate corrective measures with internal teams and external providers.
• Establish and manage frameworks for disputes, refunds, chargebacks, and fraud monitoring.
• Define roles, workflows, escalation procedures, and internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with PSP risk programs and applicable card-scheme requirements.
• Lead initial infrastructure development initiatives, particularly in the first six months.
• Report administratively to a manager while functionally collaborating with the CEO, CFO, founders, product, engineering, legal, and operations teams.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience in payment operations, payment performance, acquiring, or subscription billing.
• Direct experience collaborating with multiple PSPs, such as Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Checkout.com, or similar providers.
• Demonstrated experience in evaluating and onboarding PSPs and managing multi-provider payment infrastructures.
• Proficiency in building or operating payment orchestration, routing, and cascading systems.
• Strong background in recurring subscriptions, renewals, retries, dunning, and minimizing involuntary churn.
• Experience managing payment volumes exceeding $12 million.
• Comprehensive understanding of authorization rates, decline reasons, recovery rates, dispute ratios, and fraud ratios.
• In-depth knowledge of refunds, disputes, chargebacks, fraud monitoring, and card-scheme compliance.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate payment data into actionable priorities.
• Proven experience in developing reporting, dashboards, and operational monitoring from scratch.
• Comfortable working directly with senior executives, technical teams, legal partners, and external payment providers.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in English.
• Relevant experience in high-volume, international subscription businesses, consumer applications, digital products, SaaS, streaming, or similar recurring-revenue settings.
• Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in working with numbers daily.
