This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
β’ Accountable for the preparation, editing, and submission of precise and timely insurance claims to regulatory payers.
β’ Evaluates and resolves billing discrepancies within EPIC and the claims scrubber system.
β’ Confirms the accuracy of claims sent to payers.
β’ The claims process entails reconciling claim runs, generating electronic claim files, and addressing errors.
β’ Address claims editing challenges and collaborate with third-party clearinghouses or claims scrubber vendors to ensure clean claims.
β’ Detect recurring billing mistakes and trends, reporting them to the supervisor when necessary.
β’ Perform research and analyze coding mistakes, document billing issues and trends, and aid in problem-solving and solutions.
β’ Manage credit balances owed to regulatory payers.
β’ Completion of coursework or training in medical terminology and medical coding from an accredited institution or equivalent on-the-job training in a billing position.
β’ Minimum of 1 year experience in hospital insurance regulatory billing, including Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Labor & Industries (L&I).
