Senior Patient Accounts Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the preparation, editing, and submission of precise and timely insurance claims to regulatory payers.

• Evaluates and resolves billing discrepancies within EPIC and the claims scrubber system.

• Confirms the accuracy of claims sent to payers.

• The claims process entails reconciling claim runs, generating electronic claim files, and addressing errors.

• Address claims editing challenges and collaborate with third-party clearinghouses or claims scrubber vendors to ensure clean claims.

• Detect recurring billing mistakes and trends, reporting them to the supervisor when necessary.

• Perform research and analyze coding mistakes, document billing issues and trends, and aid in problem-solving and solutions.

• Manage credit balances owed to regulatory payers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completion of coursework or training in medical terminology and medical coding from an accredited institution or equivalent on-the-job training in a billing position.

• Minimum of 1 year experience in hospital insurance regulatory billing, including Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Labor & Industries (L&I).
