Senior Patent & IP Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and oversee the intellectual property department.

• Develop and implement Lyten’s patent strategy focused on innovative technologies.

• Prepare and file patent applications.

• Administer the global IP portfolio.

• Act as an integrated partner with product and engineering teams.

• Facilitate the invention disclosure process.

• Conduct freedom-to-operate and infringement assessments.

• Lead IP due diligence for acquisitions and asset transactions.

• Coordinate with external legal counsel.

• Negotiate intricate IP terms in commercial contracts.

• Provide guidance on trademark, trade secret, and IP-related issues in agreements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active license to practice law in the U.S.

• Registration with the USPTO.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in intellectual property.

• Proven success in patent drafting and prosecution within technology, materials, or hardware fields.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field.

• Advanced degrees and experience in battery, energy storage, or advanced materials are advantageous.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to export control laws.
