Senior OT Cybersecurity, ICS Security Architect – Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in comprehensive solutions analysis for modernization program workstreams.

• Gather and validate requirements while aiding in the creation of System Requirements Specifications that ensure traceability to NERC CIP, FISMA, and CISA Zero Trust Architecture.

• Perform market research to pinpoint potential commercial products for identity/access control, network monitoring, threat visibility, and inventory/configuration/vulnerability management.

• Prepare Requests for Information, evaluate vendor responses, and engage in technical discussions with bidders while adhering to federal market research guidelines.

• Evaluate vendor submissions and product features against established requirements.

• Contribute to comparison reports and provide recommendations for product selection.

• Assist in designing lab test environments and developing test plans.

• Engage in product demonstrations and evaluations at both customer and Peraton Labs facilities.

• Co-author documents for Alternative Solutions Analysis.

• Provide support for steering committee and executive briefings.

• Incorporate an operational technology and enterprise IT cybersecurity viewpoint in requirements-alignment workshops.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination and PIV credential.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, along with over 8 years of progressive experience in systems architecture, cyber engineering, or grid operations engineering; alternatively, 12 years of relevant experience may replace the degree requirement.

• Proven hands-on experience in both OT/ICS and enterprise IT security settings.

• Direct, practical OT/ICS cybersecurity experience within a bulk electric system operating environment as a full-time technical contributor responsible for production operations.

• Proficient in applying NERC CIP standards (CIP-002 through CIP-014) within a bulk electric system operating environment.

• Excellent technical writing and stakeholder communication abilities.

• Availability for around 20 hours weekly with flexibility concerning program milestones.

• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%, including routine trips to the Pacific Northwest.

• Undergo a background check, obtain a PIV credential, and complete any customer-required training prior to unescorted facility access.

• Familiarity with FISMA controls and CISA Zero Trust Architecture mappings.

• Experience with grid operations technology, Balancing Authority operations, Western energy markets, DOE CESER programs, collaborations with national labs, stakeholder engagement, IAM, network detection, packet capture, data diodes, cyber asset/configuration management, vulnerability and patch management, PAM, log and traffic monitoring, configuration management, formal alternatives analyses, executive presentations, and federal market research guidelines.

• Industry certifications such as GICSP, CISSP, GRID, CISA, or NERC-CIP-focused credentials are preferred.
