Senior Optical Assembly Process Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and industrialize optical assembly processes and systems from initial concept to start-up and certification.

• Lead the establishment of equipment specifications, performance requirements, and integration proposals for optical assembly machinery.

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams, suppliers, and contractors to integrate automation and tooling solutions.

• Conduct experimental testing in cleanroom environments to assess and enhance optical assembly processes and equipment.

• Supervise equipment installation, site acceptance testing, and the transition to contract manufacturing operations.

• Manage and optimize the entire product assembly flow, including active optical alignment and passive optical and mechanical assembly sequences.

• Evaluate assemblies from contract manufacturing partners and pinpoint opportunities for process improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in a related area.

• Proficient in hands-on problem solving with a strong attention to detail.

• Familiarity with technical, scientific, and experimental problem-solving methodologies.

• Experience in programming manufacturing equipment.

• Proficient in CAD software within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate professionally.

• Experience managing projects under tight deadlines.

• Fluent in both English and French.

• Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
