
Senior Officer, Outreach – Rural

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform outreach tailored to cultural contexts, create feedback mechanisms, and assist in project development within rural communities throughout the United States.
• Investigate best practices in rural development and disseminate any changing regulations, norms, and opportunities in the field to the wider Climate United team.
• Identify and nurture strategic alliances with local organizations, nonprofits, and government agencies to strengthen outreach initiatives and broaden Climate United's impact in rural settings.
• Provide initial technical support, including information on Climate United's financing options and connecting projects to alternative funding sources such as philanthropic efforts aimed at rural initiatives.
• Assist the Investment team by providing insights regarding the design of financial products that specifically address the needs of rural communities.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify specific challenges and opportunities associated with clean energy adoption in rural areas, and adapt outreach strategies accordingly.
• Create and implement systems to monitor outreach activities and results in rural communities. Analyze data to evaluate the success of outreach strategies and offer data-driven suggestions for improvement.
• Develop and test innovative outreach programs tailored to the distinctive needs of rural communities, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and adjusting strategies as needed.
• Organize and lead community meetings, listening sessions, and educational workshops in rural areas to share information about clean energy technologies and collect feedback on Climate United's initiatives.
• Over 5 years of experience in community organizing, lending, economic or environmental justice, or a related area.
• Outstanding public speaking and presentation abilities, with experience addressing diverse audiences including community members, government officials, and industry stakeholders.
• Strong strategic planning and organizational capabilities, with a history of developing long-term outreach plans that align with broader organizational objectives.
• Proven cultural competence and experience working with varied populations, particularly within rural, low-income, and Native communities.
• Deeply passionate about the mission and work of Climate United, Calvert Impact, and our dedication to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Possesses a comprehensive set of professional skills and thrives in an entrepreneurial, flat organizational structure.
• Maintains a customer service mindset (respectful and responsive) in all aspects of work, including interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing large and complex projects from inception to completion in collaboration with a broader team.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, with a systems-oriented mindset.
• Inquisitive by nature, coupled with a good sense of humor, high integrity, and team-oriented approach (“We” vs “I” mentality).
• An effective and respectful communicator and listener, both verbally and in writing, with strong proficiency in English.
• Maintains a positive, “can-do” attitude focused on implementing effective solutions.
• Willing to travel up to 25%, including participation in various conferences and engagements with local communities.
