Senior Node.js Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain scalable Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) APIs and event-driven backend solutions.

• Play a key role in architecture, technical design, and the development of secure, reliable solutions.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, testing procedures, and deployment methodologies.

• Ensure production reliability by providing on-call support, investigating incidents, and resolving issues.

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on system integration projects.

• Lead technical enhancements and promote engineering best practices.

• Engage in a long-term project within the banking sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in backend engineering, with a minimum of 2 years working with Node.js and TypeScript.

• Extensive experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, S3).

• Strong grasp of design patterns and software architecture principles.

• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Terraform and CDK.

• Familiarity with TypeScript testing methodologies (unit, integration, system).

• Experience in event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).

• Understanding of RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specifications.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Proficiency in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher.

• Experience with monorepo configurations (pnpm workspaces or similar) is a plus.

• Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and ORMs (Prisma) is a plus.

• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus.

• Proficiency in German is a plus.
