Senior Node.js Back-End Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS;

• Design and build RESTful APIs, integrations, and high-availability services;

• Engage in architectural decisions concerning microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture;

• Create consumers, producers, and manage asynchronous processing using SQS, SNS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ;

• Model and implement solutions leveraging both relational and non-relational databases;

• Ensure high-quality delivery through unit tests, integration tests, contract tests, and end-to-end tests;

• Implement resilience strategies including retry mechanisms, timeouts, circuit breakers, idempotency, and Dead Letter Queues;

• Monitor production services using metrics, logs, traces, and alerts;

• Investigate performance issues, outages, and unexpected behaviors in production environments;

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, refinements, and architectural definitions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing distributed, scalable, and high-availability solutions;

• Background in building backend services, APIs, and integrations;

• Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architecture environments;

• Knowledge of AWS infrastructure;

• Experience with asynchronous processing and managing high volumes of requests and data;

• Understanding of synchronous and asynchronous communication between services;

• Experience with both relational and non-relational databases;

• Knowledge of best practices for scalability, resilience, observability, and security;

• Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS;

• Experience with messaging systems such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ;

• Familiarity with various testing methodologies (unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end);

• Understanding of resilience strategies (retry, timeout, circuit breaker, idempotency, and Dead Letter Queues);

• Experience with monitoring tools (metrics, logs, traces, and alerts);

• Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot performance issues and outages;

• Involvement in code reviews and technical discussions.
