This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Design, engineer, integrate, implement, test, maintain, review, and oversee infrastructure, hardware, and software for network security and risk management.
• Employ systems engineering principles throughout the entire systems engineering lifecycle.
• Convert cyber objectives, technology trends, and environmental factors into effective engineering solutions.
• Configure cyber systems to fulfill user requirements while adhering to security policies and standards.
• Tackle complex cybersecurity challenges utilizing advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
• Plan and direct major technology initiatives, assess performance outcomes, and propose significant adjustments.
• Act as a technical authority across various project assignments with considerable independence.
• Guide or oversee junior employees in technical skills and competencies.
• Track market and technology trends and implement top-tier client solutions.
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS client locations as necessary, approximately 15–25% of the time.
• A minimum of 8 years of pertinent experience in network and systems engineering positions.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• Current DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements and at least one of the following: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.
• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, least privilege access controls, continuous authentication, and micro-segmentation.
• Familiarity with Versa Networks is advantageous.
• Experience with network security solutions, including IDS and firewall configurations.
• Expertise in routing and switching technologies, particularly with Juniper and Cisco hardware.
• Background in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting wireless networks.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing protocols, configuration mappings, and network schematics.
• Experience with BGP, static routing, IP multicast, and VPN technologies.
• Proficient in MS Windows operating systems and Active Directory.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience working in secure environments with an understanding of high-side protocols, procedures, and security mandates.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15–25% to CONUS and OCONUS client sites.
• Capability to take initiative and independently lead projects.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate efficiently and work autonomously.
