This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Act as a technical expert in the design, engineering, operation, and advancement of networks for internet service providers and telecommunications carriers.
• Offer technical leadership in diagnosing and resolving critical, complex, or system-wide incidents.
• Create, review, and advance architectures for access, aggregation, transport, core, edge, BNG/BRAS, and CGNAT.
• Perform technical evaluations to identify risks, vulnerabilities, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Establish standards for configuration, security, high availability, convergence, capacity, observability, and resilience.
• Plan, review, and supervise high-risk changes, ensuring impact analysis, testing, rollback procedures, and acceptance criteria are in place.
• Collaborate with BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, routing policies, and Layer 2 and Layer 3 services.
• Evaluate traffic engineering, expansion, capacity, redundancy, and scenarios for route and resource optimization.
• Prepare solution designs, diagrams, methods of procedure, technical reports, root cause analyses, and evolution plans.
• Validate solutions, projects, and configurations proposed by the team, customers, carriers, manufacturers, and vendors.
• Support technical decision-making for strategic initiatives.
• Mentor and develop analysts, conduct technical reviews, and enhance standardization and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to automation, tools, and processes that enhance the security, efficiency, and quality of technical deliverables.
• Represent NIIS technically in meetings, presentations, crisis situations, and architecture discussions with customers and partners.
• Extensive, proven experience in the architecture, engineering, advanced support, or operation of service provider and carrier networks.
• Experience leading projects, assessments, critical incidents, advanced troubleshooting, and technical decision-making in multivendor, high-availability environments.
• Strong proficiency in TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, switching, routing, high availability, and evidence-based troubleshooting.
• Strong expertise in BGP, including policies, filters, attributes, communities, route selection, redundancy, security, and convergence.
• Solid knowledge of OSPF and/or IS-IS.
• Comprehensive understanding of MPLS/LDP and services such as L2VPN, L3VPN, VPLS, or similar technologies.
• Experience with VLAN, QinQ, STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP, MC-LAG, VRRP, BFD, and mechanisms for failure and loop protection.
• Familiarity with BNG/BRAS, PPPoE, RADIUS, NAT/CGNAT, QoS, traffic engineering, and access networks.
• Ability to interpret topologies, configurations, forwarding tables, logs, telemetry, flows, and packet captures.
• Advanced experience with CLI, diagnostics, and solution design in multivendor environments.
• Capability to prepare and defend projects, standards, executive and technical reports, change plans, and root cause analyses.
• Experience providing technical leadership for incidents, projects, and critical changes in high-availability networks.
• CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
