Senior Network Software Engineer, DPDK

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and implement high-performance networking functionalities for enterprise-level appliances

• Engage with open-source data plane / fast path stacks, including VPP and DPDK

• Spearhead technical projects and guide team members

• Take full ownership of features from inception to delivery, ensuring independent and scalable solutions

• Work collaboratively across departments and encourage knowledge exchange

• Effectively convey architectural decisions and design considerations, particularly to senior stakeholders

• Balance competing priorities with a sense of urgency, accountability, and a strong sense of ownership

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

• Over 7 years of experience in developing enterprise-grade appliances or comparable systems

• Proficient in embedded software development with C/C++ (knowledge of Python is advantageous)

• Solid understanding of DPDK-based traffic generators (e.g., TRex); development experience is highly desirable

• In-depth knowledge of L2–L4 networking and protocols, such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and Firewall

• Experience with security protocols including IPsec and SSL/TLS, along with authentication and authorization

• Practical experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN) and distributed systems

• Familiarity with overlay and tunneling technologies

• Strong software engineering principles and commitment to clean coding practices

• Hands-on experience using Docker and Kubernetes

• Demonstrated ability to thrive in collaborative, startup-like environments

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficiency in VPP, DPDK, or similar open-source data plane / fast path stacks
