Senior Network, Linux Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Oversee and resolve issues related to site networks throughout our yard operations.

• Manage VPN connections, firewall configurations, and network segmentation.

• Enhance alert systems to ensure notifications are sent to personnel only when they can address the issue.

• Operate our edge infrastructure, which includes NVIDIA Jetsons for computer vision inference and Ubuntu compute nodes, along with supporting hardware.

• Take responsibility for remote management, drift detection, operating system patching, and establishing secure baselines.

• Spearhead the ongoing migration from Windows to Linux and create provisioning automation that allows new sites to go live within hours.

• Remove redundant operational tasks by employing AI agents whenever feasible and utilizing scripts when necessary.

• Enhance observability for sites that cannot be accessed physically.

• Participate in the development of our internal IT bot for routine access and configuration requests.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6 to 7 years of experience managing production Linux systems in diverse environments.

• Strong practical networking skills, including packet analysis, routing, DNS, and distinguishing between layer 2 and layer 3 without reference to textbooks.

• Familiarity with edge or IoT device fleets, such as Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and industrial PCs.

• Daily and proficient use of AI coding tools and agents.

• Expertise in Bash and Python scripting, with a focus on automation as the standard practice.

• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
