Senior Network Infrastructure Technician – Cruise Ship Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main onsite technical expert, providing support for enterprise networking, virtualization, server infrastructure, and data center operations on cruise vessels.

• Play a pivotal role in transitioning shipboard environments from VMware to Hyper-V using Veeam, while ensuring optimal uptime and operational continuity.

• Deliver Level 3 support for intricate network, server, virtualization, and infrastructure challenges.

• Assist in VMware-to-Hyper-V migration projects employing Veeam technologies.

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routing, switching, wireless, and firewall systems.

• Manage Microsoft Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.

• Provide support for both Hyper-V and VMware virtualization platforms.

• Diagnose network performance, connectivity, server, and infrastructure issues.

• Assist with onboard data center operations, including rack-and-stack tasks, cabling, hardware upgrades, and equipment replacement.

• Carry out maintenance tasks and infrastructure upgrades with minimal disruption to operations.

• Keep technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations up to date.

• Collaborate with remote engineering teams and client stakeholders.

• Act as the primary onsite technical representative for Connection.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• A valid Passport is required.

• Ability to live and work onboard active cruise ships.

• Willingness to remain onboard for assignments of up to 4–5 months.

• Capability to travel internationally and fulfill all cruise line onboarding requirements.

• Strong expertise in Cisco networking.

• Experience in virtualization.

• Advanced troubleshooting skills.
