Senior Network Engineer – LAN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Ensure the maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of IP networking components within a critical datacenter network utilizing Cisco Nexus platforms.

• Provide support for a large-scale SaaS production environment.

• Engage with external customers to resolve network connectivity issues.

• Collaborate with Network Architects and Engineers to enhance data-center network environments.

• Initiate various projects aimed at improving Network Operations.

• Work with internal business units to comprehend organizational needs.

• Continuously enhance and implement standards for operational excellence.

• Review, analyze, and carry out network change requests.

• Execute, document, and develop network automation for repetitive tasks.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure systems remain secure, resilient, and prepared for the future.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in medium-to-large enterprise networks.

• Practical expertise in network security, particularly with Palo Alto firewalls.

• Proficient in load balancing technologies, such as F5 or equivalent.

• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols including MPLS, OSPF, and BGP.

• Hands-on experience with switching technologies, specifically Cisco Nexus 9k/7k/5k/2k.

• Familiarity with Cisco IOS; Nexus OS is preferred.

• Strong practical experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Python, particularly Netmiko, Nornir, and NAPALM.

• Demonstrated understanding of platform operating systems, router platforms, LAN, WAN, and router protocols.

• Knowledge of the interaction between MPLS, OSPF, and BGP within the network.

• Experience in datacenter networking, including DC fabric, interoffice routing, and site-to-site VPNs.

• Exceptional troubleshooting skills with a data-driven approach to resolving complex network challenges.

• Ability to create and sustain network documentation, such as diagrams and runbooks.

• Experience in implementing solutions related to large data centers, interoffice routing plans, site-to-site VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, and monitoring is advantageous.
